Respiratory conditions

There is a strong body of evidence that individuals with chronic respiratory conditions (COPD, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial Lung Disease) have higher levels of deconditioning resulting in decreases in muscular strength and cardiovascular health, lower psychological health status and overall wellbeing.  Research supports that individualised exercise programs can facilitate reduced hospital admissions, improved cardiovascular health, increase psychological wellbeing, reduce shortness of breath during ADLs and improve global functioning.

At Guardian Exercise Rehabilitation, we offer exercise physiology services for a range of diagnosed Respiratory Conditions, principally for individuals through their Life Insurance/Income Protection policy.  Our holistic exercise evidence-based interventions are individualised and are orientated towards education, self-empowerment to assist with long-term management of chronic respiratory conditions to allow for increased engagement with meaningful activities and possibly assist with work readiness and function.
